The general cost of a desert safari starts at AED 35 per person. However, prices can range up to a few AED 850 dirhams per person, depending on the packages. Shared packages are comparably cheaper than private safari packages. Furthermore, price changes are imminent. They tend to rise abruptly with add-ons and extra services. The time you need for your Dubai desert safari depends on your safari package. Morning and evening safari packages are usually six hours long. However, overnight safari packages can go up to 18 hours, from 2 p.m. to 8 a.m.
The best time to go on a desert safari is always the winter months (September–March). The temperature is perfect for dune bashing, camel rides, buggy rides, and quad bike rides. Because these months are peak tourist months bookings at the last minute are hard to get. Make reservations in advance.
Yes, desert safaris are safe for children. Because children aged 3-5 need private vehicles, drivers take a slower approach than normal. Rides are customized for the safety of children, making them safe for all ages. However, dune bashing might not be suitable. Children above 12 can enjoy dune bashing as well.
Comfortable and appropriate clothing is recommended. Light and airy clothes in the summer and jackets and warmer clothes in the winter, especially at night. Sunglasses, scarves, hats, and sunscreen are mandatory for a convenient safari experience. Pack clothes according to the season and timing of your safari.
Most desert safaris include pick-up and drop-off services, camel rides, dune bashing, and food and refreshments. However, the services included in a desert safari package entirely depend on the nature of the package. Advance and VIP packages offer more services than basic packages. The prices also increase accordingly.
The deserts can have temperatures as low as 5 °C (41 °F) during the winter nights. In the summer nights, the temperature ranges from 24 °C to 27 °C (75 °F to 81 °F).
