Car Rental Policy in Dubai

Car Rental Insurance Terms

• In case of an accident where the hirer is responsible, they must pay the accident penalty (the excess amount of insurance coverage) plus 20% of the repair costs, in addition to the daily rental fee until the vehicle is repaired. If the hirer is not responsible and the second party is present, they will not be charged.
• In the event of a "TOTAL LOSS" (damage to the vehicle beyond economic repair), the hirer agrees to pay the insurance company 20% of the total insured value of the car, plus the accident penalty (excess amount of insurance coverage).
• The hirer must hold a valid driving license for at least one (1) year.
• The hirer must be at least 21 years old.
• If the hirer has held a driving license for less than one year or is under 21 years old, they will be fully liable for all repair charges and damages.
• The vehicle is for use within the UAE only, and insurance coverage applies only within the UAE.
• If an accident occurs while the driver is under the influence of alcohol or any substance with similar effects, they will be fully responsible for all losses and damages to the vehicle and will also be held accountable before the official authorities.
• The hirer must ensure that the vehicle is parked safely and securely when not in use. Any damages caused to the car, including those due to natural disasters, will be the sole responsibility of the hirer, as such damages are not covered by insurance.
• In case of any damage not supported by a police report, the hirer will be fully responsible before the official authorities, in addition to covering the vehicle repair costs.

No Insurance Coverage in the Following Circumstances

• Renting the car from an unknown source.
• Driving under the influence of alcohol or any substance with similar effects at the time of the accident.
• The car is driven by an unauthorized driver.
• Damages caused to the vehicle due to: Natural disasters, Off-road driving, driving on a race track, driving inside desert areas, and taking the car outside the UAE.

Note: Friends Car Rental is authorized to recover the vehicle using a spare key from anywhere in the UAE without prior notice to the hirer.

Fines and Salik Terms in Dubai

• The hirer agrees to pay all traffic and parking fines incurred during the rental period.
• The hirer agrees to pay a deposit for any traffic and parking fines incurred during or after the rental period. The company reserves the right, within one month after the rental ends, to claim any unpaid fines from the hirer.
• The hirer agrees to pay AED 5 per pass for using electronic toll gates under the "SALIK SYSTEM."

Conditions of Car Rental in Dubai

• In the event of an accident, the hirer must not move the car before the police inspection is complete and must submit all required documents to the rental office immediately.
• The hirer is responsible for repair costs and daily rental fees during the non-operational period if damage occurs due to negligence.
• The hirer must inform the rental office immediately in case of an accident or mechanical failure. No repairs should be made without approval.
• The hirer must return the vehicle in the same condition as noted on the checkout list. Any unclean return will result in a cleaning fee.
• The hirer must bring the vehicle to the office for regular servicing.
• The hirer must not use the vehicle for off-road driving, races, rallies, or competitions. Any damage due to such activities will be the hirer’s responsibility.
• The hirer is responsible for any legal issues related to the vehicle, including transporting forbidden items. The full rental amount must be paid until a resolution is reached.
• Friends Car Rental is not responsible for lost valuables inside the vehicle.
• The hirer is allowed 250 km per day. Any extra kilometers will be charged accordingly.
• One-day rental = 24 hours. Delays of more than three hours will result in a full-day charge.

The Hirer Will Also Be Liable for the Following Charges:

• Car towing service.
• Decline in vehicle value, whether the car is repaired or not.
• Any legal or court fees paid by Friends Car Rental due to loss or damage to the vehicle.

Hours and Delivery Terms

• The hirer must not sublease the rented vehicle. Only drivers listed on the rental agreement are authorized to drive it.
• If a complaint is filed with public authorities or government agencies due to the hirer's actions, the hirer will be responsible for all associated fees, documentation, and damages caused to the rental company.
• The specified mileage limit for monthly rentals is 4,500 km. Any excess mileage will be charged per kilometer as per the rental agreement.

Fuel Policy

• The hirer must return the car with the same fuel level as received at the start of the rental.
• If the fuel level is lower than the initial amount, the hirer will be charged for refueling at company rates.
• If the hirer overfills the tank, no refunds or adjustments will be provided.
• Using low-quality or incorrect fuel that causes engine damage will result in full liability for repairs.
• The hirer is responsible for ensuring that the fuel type matches the manufacturer's recommendation.
